UConn to Launch Stamford Computer-Coding Program

The University of Connecticut School of Engineering announced Tuesday the launch of its first computer-coding “boot camp,” a program focused on working professionals that it would run with workforce-development firm Trilogy Education.

And The 2019 Senior Design Winners Are….

Two hundred and thirty-six groups, consisting of over 800 seniors, stood proudly by projects ranging from an autonomous firefighting drone to a cloud-based smart storage system for a local aerospace manufacturer. The capstone projects, which were the culmination of a year’s-worth of work, are known as Senior Design, and are presented annually at Senior Design Demonstration Day.

10% Discount Offered to Alumni Looking to Advance Their Education

The UConn School of Engineering Professional Education program announced that it has created a new alumni discount, a 10% reduction off of the program’s fees for alumni who do not have company sponsored tuition reimbursement policies.

An ‘Accidental Dean’ Becomes a Transformative Leader

Kazem Kazerounian has served as the Dean of the UConn School of Engineering since 2012, overseeing a period of transformative growth. But, Kazerounian never envisioned becoming an administrator when he was hired as an assistant professor in 1984. Because of this, Kazerounian has evolved from a self-described "accidental dean" into a transformative leader.

2019 UConn Gives Event Scheduled for March 27-28

For 36 hours, on March 27-28, all of UConn Nation will come together like never before during UConn Gives to show their support for the University they love and the programs they are passionate about. Gifts can be made between 7 a.m. on March 27 and 7 p.m. on March 28.

Researchers at UConn and USC put the rubber objects through strength tests that proved not only was regeneration possible, but regeneration at nearly 100 percent strength.

Alumnus Q+A with Kevin Nolan, CEO of GE Appliances

Kevin Nolan is the President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Appliances, a Haier company, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. GE Appliances is at the forefront of building innovative, energy-efficient appliances that improve people’s lives. The business employs 12,000 people. Nolan graduated from the UConn School of Engineering in 1989, and recently sat down for a Q+A session about his time as an undergraduate, and his career so far.
