Dr. Jennifer Wolf, nationally renowned hand surgeon in the New England Musculoskeletal Institute, is one of seven orthopaedic surgeons in North America selected to the American Orthopaedic Association’s 2013 American-British-Canadian Traveling Fellowship.

ABC Fellows present talks on their research and provide mentorship to medical students in other parts of the world. Wolf’s travels in the spring will take her to the United Kingdom and South Africa.

“This fellowship is one of the highest honors in orthopaedic surgery and is a great opportunity to act as an international ambassador, as well as to learn from our overseas hosts about our similarities and differences in practice and research,” Wolf says.

The American Orthopaedic Association awarded Wolf its John J. Fahey North American Traveling Fellowship in 2007. In 2010, the year she joined the UConn Health Center as an associate professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, she was named the Sterling Bunnell Fellow, one of the highest honors from the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Wolf, who sees patients in Farmington and Southington, holds a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Her postdoctoral education includes a hand surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at Brown University in Providence, where she also completed her residency and internship training.

She is a resident of West Harford.
