The UConn Health Center Fire Department is going pink in the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In a coordinated effort with their counterparts at the Storrs station, other state agencies, and the International Association of Firefighters Local S-15, firefighters from the UConn Health Center station have joined in buying and wearing custom-made pink shirts to call attention to breast cancer and the search for a cure.
“Our shirts have generated some significant interest, so we’re placing another order of shirts that will be available for sale to the UConn Health Center community,” says Deputy Chief Greg Priest. “Proceeds from the shirt sales go to the UConn Foundation to support breast cancer research. We’re pleased to support a great cause.”
Orders for the long-sleeved T-shirts will be accepted until the morning of Monday, Oct. 8, by email to priest@uchc.edu. Prices are $20 for sizes small through extra-large, $22 for 2XL, and $23 for 3XL. Payment will be due upon receipt.
