Paul Bunevich

Paul Bunevich, P.E. (B.S. civil engineering, ‘74) was named town engineer at the Town of Watertown, Connecticut.  Previously, Bunevich owned Waterbury-based Land-Data Engineers, a civil engineering firm specializing in hydraulics and drainage projects and performing site planning, surveying and other engineering services primarily for residential clients; he founded and operated that company for 42 years.

 

Daniel McCall

Daniel McCall (B.S. computer science & engineering, ’83) was appointed chief executive officer at Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Lexumo.  A high-technology veteran with over 30 years of experience, McCall co-founded multiple successful companies including Guardent (acquired by Verisign in 2004) and Virtual Computer (acquired by Citrix in 2012) where he served as president and CEO.

 

 

 

In Memorium

Professor Emeritus Winthrop Edward Hilding (B.S. mechanical engineering, ’38), 98, died on December 11, 2016 in Storrs, CT. Dr. Hilding was a professor of mechanical engineering for 37 years, from 1947 to 1984. A tribute will run in a coming Momentum Article.

Professor Emeritus G. Michael Howard, 81, of Storrs, CT, died peacefully at his home on December 21, 2016.   Dr. Howard was a professor and department head of chemical engineering, as well as Associate Dean for the School of Engineering during his tenure at UConn (1961-97). Please see our memorial article for more information about Dr. Howard’s life and career.

Jerry J. Osochowsky (B.S. mechanical engineering, ‘47), 91, of Branford, CT, died peacefully at his home on January 1, 2017  He retired from the United Illuminating Company after a 40-year career.  Osochowsky was a veteran of World War II, proudly serving in the Army Air Corps.
