UConn Health’s Dr. Ketan Bulsara is now a member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society.
Sigma Xi, whose historic membership includes multiple Nobel Prize winners and national and international scientific thought leaders, is the world’s largest multidisciplinary honor society for scientists and engineers.
Bulsara is chief of the Division of Neurosurgery, with elite expertise in an unparalleled range of neurological interventions. He has trained with the field’s pioneers throughout the world, has contributed to many national and international guidelines and standards, is renowned as one of the few neurosurgeons worldwide with a dedicated dual fellowship training in skull base/cerebrovascular microsurgery and endovascular surgery.
He has published three books and more than 200 peer-reviewed articles, including articles in the world’s highest cited journals such as Nature Neuroscience, Nature Genetics, Nature, and The Lancet.

Bulsara recently was elected 43rd chair of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Section of Cerebrovascular Surgery.

This November, Sigma Xi is presenting UConn Health’s Dr. Cato T. Laurencin with its highest honor, the Gold Key Award.
