Spring Career Fair a Hit

On February 19th, in celebration of National Engineers Week, more than 60 employers and hundreds of UConn engineering students filled the Rome Commons Ballroom at the Storrs campus for the opportunity to meet, discuss career and internship opportunities and do their best to impress. The 2013 spring career fair was widely praised by employers and students alike for its organization and excellent attendance.

career1aOn February 19th, in celebration of National Engineers Week, more than 60 employers and hundreds of UConn engineering students filled the Rome Commons Ballroom at the Storrs campus for the opportunity to meet, discuss career and internship opportunities and do their best to impress.  The 2013 spring career fair was widely praised by employers and students alike for its organization and excellent attendance.

Among those exhibiting were major defense industry leaders, energy companies, insurance giants, engineering consulting companies, construction firms, manufacturers, computing giants, defense-industry leaders, pharmaceutical companies, and State and federal employers.

career2The career fair afforded students the opportunity to dress up, learn more about summer and full-time job opportunities, present their credentials and initiate contacts.  The School hosted pre-fair sessions for interested students that include helpful tips on effective resume writing, as well as interviewing skills.
