On October 27, 2011, the CT Technology Transfer Center (T2 Center) held a ceremony to honor individuals in Connecticut’s transportation community.  Ninety-nine individuals were recognized for their achievement in having completed one or more of the  professional development certificate programs administered by the center; the Road Master, Road Scholar, Legal Traffic Authority, Public Works Academy and Transportation Leadership Programs.  In addition, the Center honored Representative Bill Aman (R-South Windsor) for his significant efforts in passing legislation to help protect workers by doubling fines in municipal work zones.

The ceremony included keynote addresses by Representative Aman, Department of Transportation Commissioner James Redeker, Federal Highway Administration Division Administrator Amy Jackson-Grove and graduates Kevin Kelly of Colchester and Honorable Laura Francis of Durham.  Their remarks focused on the importance of professional development and leadership within the transportation community in Connecticut and the value and impact that Public Works Agencies have on their communities.

They commended the professionals for understanding the need for innovation and efficiency in today’s fiscal climate and spoke to the importance of networking and mutual aid in these difficult times.  This year’s graduates join more than 900 other state and local transportation professionals in having completed one or more of the T2 Center’s programs.
