Douglas Casa, a professor of kinesiology in the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut, is an expert in preventing exertional heat stroke in athletes. He is also chief executive officer of the Korey Stringer Institute at UConn, which aims to prevent heat stroke in athletes.
As summer practice begins for the 2010 football season, UConn Magazine editor Ken Best met with Casa to discuss the Korey Stringer Institute and the issue of heat stroke.
