Elizabeth Sennett of East Hampton is equally adept in executing an oil painting or a watercolor. For over 40 years she has been painting and teaching her world; her flower gardens, the New England landscape, still life paintings and the people she knows. She was one of the founders of the East Hampton Art Association and continues to be very active in it. She has been program chairman for most of the 40 years the association has been in existence. Elizabeth attended the Lyme Academy of Fine Arts and the Connecticut School of Fine Art. She received the Esther Fay Award in the Connecticut Watercolor Show at the New Britain Museum of Art. She has received many awards including First Prize in the East Hampton Art Show this year.
Elizabeth Ann McNally is an artist and print maker residing in New Britain. She chooses to work in both narrative and nonrepresentational content. Key elements in her narrative work are animals, humor, and the graphic use of line. In her nonrepresentational art, color, line, pattern and the properties of the material and medium, are the sole focus of compositions. Elizabeth has a bachelor’s of fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) with a focus in drawing and printmaking. She has received many honors including honorable mention awards in Mystic Art Association’s 45th Regional Juried Show and in the professional category for CRT’s 2015 National Art’s Program show in Connecticut. Elizabeth and her solo show, Playful in the Barnes Franklin Gallery, was featured in the Greater Hartford Arts Council’s blog, “Artists Spotlight.”
The art exhibits of both Elizabeth Sennett and Elizabeth Ann McNally will be shown at the Celeste LeWitt Gallery at UConn Health until March 8, 2018.
