Physicians with specialized training in ear, nose and throat surgery, hand, wrist and elbow surgery, orthopedic oncology, and bone marrow transplantation are now seeing patients at UConn Health.
Dr. Daniel Roberts is an ear, nose and throat specialist and neurotologist who is seeing patients in Farmington and Southington. His areas of expertise include cochlear implants, chronic ear surgery, and skull base tumors. He joins UConn from the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, where he completed a fellowship in neurotology and skull base surgery. He also is a graduate of the Harvard Medical School’s combined residency program in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Roberts’ M.D. is from the Boston University School of Medicine, from which he also holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology and neuroscience. He is board certified in otolaryngology. Meet Dr. Roberts. | |
Dr. Joel Ferreira is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the hand, wrist, and elbow. He sees patients in Farmington and Storrs, with expertise in fracture care of the upper extremity, carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndromes, arthritis, and arthroscopy of the wrist and elbow. Ferreira returns to UConn Health to practice with Dr. Craig Rodner, under whom he trained while a UConn orthopedic surgery resident, and with Dr. Anthony Parrino, who also had trained under Rodner and recently returned to UConn Health. Dr. Anthony Parrino is another hand, wrist and elbow surgeon who completed his orthopedic surgery residency at UConn. He sees patients in Farmington and Southington. Parrino is among a small number of physicians in the Hartford area who offer endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery. He also offers “wide-awake” surgery for patients with carpal tunnel, trigger finger, or mucus cysts, and treats fractures, trauma, nerve and tendon disorders, and arthritis in the hand, wrist and elbow. Parrino joins UConn Health from the University of Rochester, where he completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship. His M.D. is from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. | |
Dr. Adam Lindsay is an orthopedic oncologist who specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of bone and soft tissue in adults and children, including pelvic and limb sarcoma. He also offers hip and knee replacement and general fracture care. Lindsay joins UConn Health from the University of California Irvine, now seeing patients in Farmington. He fellowship trained in orthopedic oncology at the University of Florida and residency trained in orthopedic surgery and general surgery at the Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Jonathan Harrison is hematologist and medical oncologist who arrives from the University of Missouri to restart the UConn Health Bone Marrow Transplant Division. He sees patients in Farmington. In addition to hematopoietic transplantation, he has expertise treating patients with anemia, sickle cell disease, hemophilia, leukemia and lymphoma. Harrison fellowship trained in hematology and oncology at the University of Michigan Medical Center and was a visiting fellow at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle. He residency trained in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota and the University of Illinois, where he also earned his M.D. He is board certified in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. |
