Bruce E. Strober, M.D., Ph.D. has been appointed chair of the Department of Dermatology at UConn Health and professor of dermatology at UConn School of Medicine.
Strober has served as the interim chair of the Department of Dermatology since 2015 and vice chair since joining UConn Health in 2011. He also serves as the director of clinical trials for the Department of Dermatology.
“We wish Dr. Strober continued success in his new leadership role as chair of the Department of Dermatology at UConn Health,” said Bruce T. Liang, M.D., dean of UConn School of Medicine.
Strober is internationally acclaimed for his clinical and research expertise in psoriasis and specializes in treating inflammatory diseases of the skin. He is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
“I am honored to be appointed the new chair of dermatology at UConn Health and excited to take the department to new heights in innovative patient care and clinical trial research,” said Strober. “I feel privileged to continue to build upon the incredible 35 years of leadership and service of the past chair of dermatology, Dr. Jane M. Grant-Kels.”
Prior to joining UConn Health, Strober was assistant professor of dermatology at NYU Langone Medical Center. He completed his residency in dermatology at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at NYU School of Medicine and earned his medical and doctorate degrees from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Strober is on the board for the International Psoriasis Council, and has served as a section editor for the British Journal of Dermatology, and is a reviewer for Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Archives of Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, and Inflammation. He is also the scientific director of the Corrona-National Psoriasis Foundation Psoriasis Registry.
