Sara Olson, a member of the laboratory of Dr. Brenton Graveley for over two decades at UConn Health, has been named the winner of the RNA Society Outstanding Career Researcher Award, which recognizes the exceptional contributions of career research scientists in advancing the field of ribonucleic acid research.

David McCarthy, 88, of North Windham, Conn., and Port Orange, Fla., a retired assistant dean of molecular and cell biology and Director of Academic Renovations, on June 15.

Byron Monroe, 84, of Dauphin Island, Alabama, a former employee of UConn campus safety in the 1960s, on May 21.
