Honors

Business law professor Robert Bird recently was presented with the Kay Duffy Award for Extraordinary Service to the Academy by The Academy of Legal Studies in Business, the leading academic organization for the research and teaching of law in business schools worldwide. The award recognizes long-term service and professional contribution that are impactful and enduring across a variety of stakeholders.

In Memoriam

Jorge Aguero, 51, of Mansfield Center, Conn., as associate professor of economics and El Instituto, on May 7.

Peter Good, 80, of Chester, Conn., an artist who received the University Medal for his work designing  the University’s oak leaf logo, on May 3. He also is known for the design of the Hartford Whalers logo.

Peter Strutt, 94, of Storrs, Conn., a retired professor of metallurgy in the College of Engineering, on April 10.
