C. Michael White, Pharm.D., Distinguished Professor of Pharmacy Practice, has been reappointed to a third 5-year term as Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. This decision was made after a thorough review by members of the department of pharmacy practice and University community members at large. “During Dr. White’s two terms as Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, he has shown that he is devoted to the success of the school and the individual faculty and staff that he leads,” says Phil Hritcko, Dean. “He has worked on specific faculty development plans leading to individual excellence, reassignment of faculty and clinical sites to exploit emerging areas or to create critical mass for shared success, and faculty advocacy to support and promote their success.”
In April 2020, White was named a UConn Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor. Presented to faculty who have worked at UConn for over 10 years, this honor highlights faculty members with demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and service, outreach, and public engagement. White is also a UConn Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) Fellow and faculty finalist for the Provost’s Award for Public Engagement. He has received four School of Pharmacy Teacher of the Year awards and contributes to the UConn School of Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program for adjunct faculty.
