Third-Year Students Recognized by Local Dental Society

Six third-year students at the UConn School of Dental Medicine were honored by the Hartford Dental Society for their outstanding academic achievements.

Six third-year students at the UConn School of Dental Medicine were honored by the Hartford Dental Society for their outstanding academic achievements.

Ross Camiel, Daniel Fitzgerald, Brian Greco, Abraham Kwok, Robert Morrin and Ambika Sharma received scholarships from the Hartford Dental Society on May 16 at the Indian Hill Country Club in Newington, Conn.

“The Hartford Dental Society is proud to support these individuals for their outstanding achievements as students and wish them continued success as they transition from student to dentist,” said Dr. Gary B. Toubman, president of the Hartford Dental Society.

Dr. Sharon Gordon, dean of the UConn School of Dental Medicine, was there to congratulate the students on their awards.

At the same meeting, Dr. Thomas Taylor, professor, head of the Department of Reconstructive Sciences and chair of the Division of Prosthodontics at the UConn School of Dental Medicine received the 2019 Hartford Dental Society James & Ella Burr McManus Award for his excellence in prosthodontics and contributions to the field.
