The Department of Allied Health Sciences Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Online Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program is designed for professionals chosen to oversee OSH at their place of work, as well as those seeking a career change.
“We’ve designed this program to give students the academic underpinning to really understand health and safety in the workplace and give them the skill set to help better perform in their assigned duties, as well as to assist those looking to get into the profession,” says Paul Bureau, program director.
“I can honestly say that I wouldn’t be here—in this field, position, or life, without this program,” says Stephanie Cowan, occupational safety consultant in Athens, Georgia. “I cannot say how much I enjoyed my time in the post-bac program, how much I’ve learned and how much the instructors changed my life.”
The program consists of five three-credit courses that cover a broad spectrum of workplace health and safety issues and include three core courses and two electives in areas such as ergonomics or workman’s compensation. The classes are designed to include online discussions with other students from many different disciplines to create a dynamic learning community.
