UConn Nation Goes Red for Women’s Heart Health
On National Wear Red Day UConn Nation across UConn and UConn Health's campuses went from blue to red to raise awareness of women's heart disease and to help strike out the number one killer of Americans.
In honor of National Wear Red Day UConn and UConn Health’s campuses donned red clothing to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease, the number one killer of women in America. Wearing red also signals to each other the power each of us has individually in potentially preventing the majority of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke with a daily prescription of a healthy diet, exercise and no smoking.
UConn Health’s Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center and the American Heart Association thank UConn Nation and Connecticut for their support in raising awareness.
Make sure to share on social media how you chose to Go Red for Women with a photo using the hashtag #GoRedCT.
Also, think about making a donation to support the work of the Calhoun Cardiology Center advancing cardiovascular medicine breakthroughs and scientific research knowledge to improve patient outcomes in the state and beyond.
