Angie CheungThe Materials Science and Engineering Department gladly welcomes Angie Cheung as the newest member to the Industrial Advisory Board. She joins eight other industry partners in working to strengthen the visibility of the UConn Materials Science and Engineering Department at the university, state, and national level.

Cheung obtained her bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and her master’s degree in engineering science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Hartford. She is the Chief Materials Engineer and Manager at Stanadyne LLC, a global leader in the manufacturing of fuel pumps for fuel injection engines and other engine components. With her leadership, the company is able to expand metallurgical engineering and failure analysis capabilities, as well as develop and improve materials and process requirements globally.

Qualified with experience in both automotive and aerospace industries, Cheung has previously worked at Hamilton Sundstrand in Materials Engineering and in Materials and Processing and Materials Engineering organizations at Cummins Engine Company-Fuel Systems.

Professor Pamir Alpay, the Head of the Materials Science and Engineering Department, looks forward to Cheung’s contributions. “We are very excited that Angie is joining our Advisory Board. She brings years of experience in metallurgy and advanced manufacturing. The Department will benefit greatly from her guidance.”
