beczSandor Becz (Ph.D. Mechanical Engineering, ’07) was appointed vice president of engineering at Hydroid, Inc., a subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime and a leading manufacturer of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). In this role, he will lead all engineering activities at Hydroid, including research and development, new product development and engineering support. Becz joined Hydroid from United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS. Prior to UTAS, he was head of global R&D for Lenze S.E.

 

bylo  Gregory R. Bylo (B.S. Mechanical Engineering & Materials Engineering, ’80) was appointed vice president, Healthcare, at GSI US, an industry group driving open, global standards to help healthcare companies improve the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the supply chain and care delivery. In this role, he will lead an industry-wide initiative focused on adoption and usage of GS1 standards in healthcare. Prior to joining GS1 US, Bylo was a senior director of global supply chain support services at Integra Life Sciences. He spent more than 15 years at Becton Dickinson leading sales and operations planning and supply chain planning team. gbylo@gs1us.org

 

maddalaDharma R. Maddala (Ph.D. Materials Science & Engineering, ’11) has received the ASM International 2015 Emerging Professional Achievement Award. This award recognizes outstanding young ASM members who have made significant contributions to ASM International through dedicated service to the organization. A staff scientist, Engineered Surfaces, at the Alcoa Technical Center, Maddala currently serves as vice chairman for the ASM Pittsburgh Golden Triangle Chapter. His Ph.D. dissertation research focused on the wear behavior of metallic glasses.

 

shenoySudhakar V. Shenoy (M.S. Electrical Engineering, ’71) founder, chairman and CEO of IMC, Inc. joined the Board of Directors of Government Proposal Solutions Inc., an online service that matches government contractors and consultants. Recognized as one of the Top 25 Most Influential People in the Washington, D.C. high-tech industry, he was previously selected as Executive of the Year by the Northern Virginia GovCon Council, the Professional Services Council and Washington Technology. A member of the UConn School of Engineering Distinguished Engineers, Shenoy earned an MBA from the UConn School of Business.
