On Friday, November 1, 2013, the UConn School of Engineering hosted its first-ever Industry Open House, which brought to campus more than 150 individuals from across the commercial and industrial spectrum.

The event featured an exhibition component as well as one-on-one meetings. During the exhibition component, attendees were able to speak informally with UConn researchers and commercialization personnel and to stroll among more than 70 posters summarizing some of the many research and commercialization activities underway at UConn that can help businesses innovate, lower production and materials costs, improve plant efficiency, explore new technologies, license UConn-developed IP and improve their operations. During 10-minute one-on-one “speed date” meetings, attendees and researchers were able to speak in greater depth about collaborative opportunities.

UConn Engineering will reprise this successful event during 2014. Look for details in the fall.
