Joseph Daraio (M.S. Environmental Engineering ‘02), PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Rowan University. Dr. Daraio earned his Ph.D. at the University of Iowa. His primary interests lie in interdisciplinary research that links hydrology, hydraulics and ecology. Before joining Rowan, he worked as a postdoctoral research scholar at North Carolina State University, where he developed models to simulate the effects of land-use change and climate change on watershed hydrology and instream temperature to assess potential long-term effects on aquatic organisms.
Hatim O. Sharif (Ph.D. Environmental Engineering ’01), P.E., is an associate professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio. His research interests encompass hydrologic analysis, modeling, and prediction, land-atmosphere interactions, remote sensing application in hydrometeorology, application of geographic information systems (GIS) in water resources, water quality and contaminant transport modeling.
Robert J. Stadalius (B.S. Chemical Engineering ‘81) is Senior Vice President of Operational Excellence at Arch Chemicals, Inc., Atlanta. The company is a global biocides company with annual sales of over $1 billion. He has global responsibility for ensuring manufacturing excellence, supply chain and capital expenditure efficiency, product quality, productivity and strategic cost reductions. He also has management responsibility for Responsible Care and security. A veteran chemical production engineer and plant manager, Mr. Stadalius served as Vice President, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, before the promotion to his current role. He received his MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Bernard van Leggelo (M.S. Ocean Engineering ’84) has been appointed to the new role of Group Executive Managing Director reporting to the CEO of SBM Offshore, N.V. He formerly was Managing Director of the SBM Houston Execution Centre since 2007. Mr. Leggelo will focus on the execution of the company’s operational strategy and long-term planning. SBM Offshore provides floating production solutions to the offshore energy industry, over the full product life-cycle.
