Food Allergies Could Be Cause of Dry, Itchy Skin

It’s not unusual as we head into the colder months for our skin to become drier and itchier but it might not be the change in temperature that is to blame. An allergic reaction to food – either by skin contact during food preparation or by eating the food – can trigger a flare-up. Food allergies can be especially difficult for those suffering from skin conditions like atopic dermatitis or eczema. During an interview on NBC Connecticut, Dr. Frank Santoro, dermatologist at the UConn Health Center, talks about the best way to identify those trigger foods and how best to soothe your skin.
