Enjoy Movies and Music at Storrs Center This Summer

A Friday film series and Sunday music performances will add to the attractions at Storrs Center throughout the summer.

A Friday film series at UConn’s von der Mehden Recital Hall and Sunday music performances adjacent to restaurants at Storrs Center will take place this summer, organized by StoDoArts at Storrs Center, a community group working to help create a vibrant and lively environment in Storrs Center.

StoDoArts is coordinating activities with the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Leyland Alliance, UConn Summer Programs, and the School of Fine Arts.

Film Fridays will return to von der Mehden Recital Hall on June 21 and continue through Aug. 16, with many of the films accompanied by a theme for the evening.

On movie nights, von der Mehden Box Office will open at 7 p.m., with films beginning at 7:30 p.m. An admission fee of $5 per person (cash only) will be charged. The film series is supported by UConn’s School of Fine Arts.

Aug. 9    Casablanca [NR] (B&W) (1942), Film Noir.
Aug. 16  Kinky Boots [PG13], Kinkiest Boots contest with prizes. Kick it up!

Sunday Music at 2 will feature local and regional artists appearing at Storrs Center, near Geno’s & Mooyah’s. The series is sponsored through support of Leyland Alliance.
