Most University of Connecticut websites and email services were taken offline early on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 27, after an overnight power surge somewhere in the vicinity of North Campus, according to University Information Technology Services.
UITS staffers were addressing the issue early Thursday, and expect all systems to be restored by lunchtime.
At the same time, an unrelated power outage occurred on Wednesday in the vicinity of Horsebarn Hill, resulting in outages for the George C. White Building, the Merle S. Klinck Building, the Roy E. Jones Building and the Jones annex, the Agricultural Biotechnology Laboratory, the Advanced Technology Laboratory, and the Landscape Barn. Crews from Connecticut Light & Power are working to address the outages.
