Storm Sandy might have wreaked havoc across the state recently but she couldn’t stop the CT Technology Transfer Center’s Pavement Preservation Showcase from being a success.  After the event was quickly rescheduled to avoid the storm, almost 100 public works professionals from around Connecticut attended the showcase, where they learned about the current state of pavement preservation in Connecticut.

Presentations from industry experts included the latest information about crack sealing, chip sealing, microsurfacing, cape and slurry seals, hot-in-place recycling, cold-in-place recycling and rehabilitation using portland cement.  Experts were there to answer questions and the day ended with several topic-specific roundtable discussions so that attendees could share their experiences.

The showcase was a partnership between the CT Technology Transfer Center and the New England Chapter of the American Public Works Association.  For more information on the Pavement Preservation Showcase, contact Mary McCarthy at mary@engr.uconn.edu.  For more information on the CT Technology Transfer Center, visit our website at www.t2center.uconn.edu
