A message to the UConn Health Center community from Frank M. Torti

Recently, the Health Center launched an inclusive exercise to define and articulate our priorities and goals for the next eight years and beyond. We call this exercise “UConn Health 2020.”

This is not a strategic plan in the traditional sense. Rather, this will be a tightly focused and time limited initiative to identify our shared vision for the Health Center. We will begin by asking you to share your thoughts about what the Health Center should look like in 2020. We will then work backwards to determine the steps needed to reach these goals.

More than 100 Health Center leaders participated in ideation sessions in late August to start that process. In the next few weeks, an online survey will be posted on the strategic refresh website, uconnhealth2020.uchc.edu, so everyone in the Health Center community can participate. I will be holding a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, Sept. 20, to continue the dialogues. The meetings will be held at 7:45 a.m. and noon in Keller Auditorium and will also be online at uconnhealth2020.uchc.edu.

I will provide more details as the strategic refresh rolls out. In the meantime, feel free to watch the video to the right that provides you with more information about the strategic refresh. I hope you will take the time to participate online or in person.
