The staff of the UConn Dairy Bar played host to a special visitor Aug. 16, when Gov. Dannel P. Malloy stopped by to say hello and take a tour of the facility. As part of the State’s new tourism campaign, Connecticut still revolutionary, Malloy visited several tourist sites in eastern Connecticut during the day. He concluded his trip with a stop at the Dairy Bar to sample UConn’s popular ice cream.
The Dairy Bar receives more than 200,000 visitors annually, and is offering extended summer hours through Labor Day.
While the 24 flavors of ice cream made from milk produced by UConn’s award-winning dairy herd are the main attraction, other products for sale include cultured yogurt, eggs, and a variety of cheeses.
