A graphical image developed by Dr. George Lykotrafitis, an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, appears on the cover of the January 4, 2012 issue of  Biophysical Journal. The full journal article for a two-component erythrocyte membrane model, coauthored with doctoral student He Li, appears in the journal and may be found here. The article pertains to his ongoing research on the hereditary blood disorder of sickle cell disease.
