Meghan McCain, a well known blogger and daughter of U.S. Senator and former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, spoke to UConn students last night at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts.
McCain, a self-described ‘progressive republican,’ discussed her experiences in politics; her support for LGBTQ equality – although she identifies herself as heterosexual; and her stand on civility in politics and the media.
Her talk, which was hosted by the Rainbow Center, was timed to coincide with National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11.
