UConn students and subscribers to Charter Communications cable television now have access to Huskies football and men’s basketball and other Big East Conference program coverage.
On campus, students can find SNY on HuskyVision channel 75. Charter customers can find SNY on channel 33.
Cable television systems elsewhere in Connecticut have received SNY, which carries New York Mets and Jets programs, since earlier this year. SNY and Charter Communications reached an agreement on Oct. 28.
“We are very happy that SNY is now available on 100 percent of the cable television systems that service our state and excited that UConn programming on SNY is reaching more than 12 million homes nationally,” says Jeffrey Hathaway, UConn director of athletics. “We express our appreciation to the management of both SNY and Charter Communications for all their hard work in making this possible, so that UConn students on campus and Husky fans in northeastern Connecticut can enjoy all of the UConn games and additional programming on SNY. We also thank the affected Charter customers for their patience and continued support while this situation was being resolved.
SNY annually features more than 300 hours of UConn programming – including 120 hours of Huskies game coverage – with unprecedented access to UConn coaches and players. SNY has significantly expanded its UConn sports coverage throughout its sports news and entertainment programming, including its critically acclaimed “SportsNite” show, which airs Monday-Sunday at 10 p.m., 1 a.m., and throughout the morning.
Charter’s addition of SNY comes in time for the network’s in-depth, exclusive coverage of the men’s basketball 2010-11 season – which will tip-off on Friday, Nov. 12, when Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun’s Huskies battle the Stony Brook University Seawolves at 7 p.m.
SNY’s exclusive men’s basketball schedule will feature conference matchups with UConn facing Notre Dame, Georgetown, Louisville, and Rutgers. In addition, Huskies fans can keep tabs on their rivals all season long, as SNY will showcase more than 100 live Big East basketball games. For the most up-to-date schedule of UConn games on SNY, visit the SNY website or the UConn Athletics site.
