The School of Engineering will hold commencement ceremonies for graduating undergraduates on Sunday, May 9 in the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts.
Seating will begin at 11:30 a.m., and the event will formally commence at 12:30. From 10:00 — 11:15 a.m., graduating students and their families are invited to an informal engineering reception under a party tent at Dow Field, located adjacent to the Homer Babbidge Library. The School’s administrators, along with faculty and staff, will be on hand to greet attendees.
The commencement speaker will be UConn engineering alumnus Robert Madonna (B.S.E. Electrical Engineering ’82), Chief Executive Officer of Savant Systems LLC. Earlier in his career, Mr. Madonna founded Excel Switching Corporation and served as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President. The company was purchased by Lucent Technologies in 1999.
Students are limited to seven tickets, which must be obtained in advance at the UConn Co-op after seniors purchase their caps and gowns.
