The University of Connecticut Foundation will launch the University’s new fund-raising campaign, “Our University. Our Moment. The Campaign for UConn,” with an ice cream social on Friday, Sept. 25 at 12:30 p.m.
The event will take place in Storrs on Fairfield Way, between the Student Union and the School of Business. In case of rain, it will be moved to the atrium of the CUE building.
UConn faculty, staff, and students are invited to enjoy complimentary ice cream from UConn’s Dairy Bar and learn about the campaign.
There will be a brief speaking program starting at 1 p.m. Campaign Chair Denis McCarthy, ’64, ’65, and Jeremy Teitelbaum, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, will talk about the importance of this campaign to UConn’s future. Alumna Cindy Sebrell ’91 and UConn student Brien Buckman will also speak.
“Our University. Our Moment. The Campaign for UConn” promises to take the University to a higher platform, continuing its rise to become one of the top 20 public research universities in the country. The goal of this multi-year campaign is $600 million. To date, $184 million has been raised.
