Sunday, September 17, 2006, the University held its annual fall Open House for students and their parents who are interested in learning more about UConn’s academic programs.  During the day-long event, visitors had the opportunity to visit academic programs of interest, tour residence halls and visit campus hot spots, including the famed Dairy Barn. The School of Engineering hosted more than 600 prospective students and accompanying parents from throughout the region.  Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education Marty Wood presented an overview of the School and its acclaimed educational programs, various enrichment opportunities, admission requirements, average student profile and other facets.  The visitors also enjoyed departmental demonstrations and presentations by engineering faculty, graduate and undergraduate students from the five engineering departments and several programs.
